Learning resources

Understand the basics.

Short introductions to the markets featured on Keytelnet. These summaries explain terminology; they are not predictions or recommendations.

Four areas to understand

Each category has its own characteristics and sources of uncertainty.

Real estate

Property values and rental income can be affected by location, demand, financing costs and maintenance. Property may take time to sell.

Stocks

A share represents an ownership interest in a company. Share prices can rise or fall, and dividends are not guaranteed.

Agriculture

Agricultural activities depend on production, supply chains and demand. Weather, input costs and disruptions can affect outcomes.

Cryptocurrency

Digital assets use blockchain networks. Prices can be volatile, and custody, network and transaction errors introduce additional risks.

Common terms

A few definitions that can help when reading plan information.

Diversification

Spreading exposure across assets or markets. It can reduce concentration in one area, but cannot prevent all losses.

Liquidity

How easily an asset can be converted to available funds. A withdrawal request and a completed transfer are different stages.

Past performance

A record of previous results. It does not establish what future results will be.

Read the conditions alongside the figures

A percentage alone does not explain a plan. The calculation period, fees, duration, withdrawal rules and possibility of loss all matter.
